Four times a year, our neighborhood throws a party. Much of San Diego is familiar with Walkabout, an evening where local businesses open up their doors late into the evening, and the neighborhood comes out to enjoy music, food and getting to know their neighbors. The winter's Walkabout, themed "Lumnaria," will be on December 7th from 6-10pm. Hope to see you there!
At first we weren't sure what to make of the phone call. A man identifying himself as a producer of one of the most popular travel shows in Japan, called to say he'd like to feature Make Good in one of their upcoming episodes. A few weeks later, a location visit and some advanced planning, and the film crew showed up to not only interview Sophia at Make Good, but they spent time in South Park, filming other stores and locations around the neighborhood. The show's primary audience is the well-travelled Japanese citizen. Rather than guiding them to typical tourists destinations though, the show features out of the way places, locations that tourists often miss but that give a city it's true character. We're flattered, and can't wait for the episode to air! Once it does, and if you speak Japanese, we might need some interpretation.
