What our customers are saying.
We know, Yelp can be a mixed bag. But hey, when customers say stuff like this, we can't help but share. Honestly, some of them simply say it better than we ever could.
Easily my favorite boutique in town. Great place to find something for yourself, presents for a friend, and all while supporting one of the coolest local businesses that price their store at a completely reasonable level.
BEST rescued clothing section ever!!
If you're anything like me, you walk into this store and think, "OMG. I love this. I totally want to make this."
Guess what. You won't.
You might even buy the materials but they will sit around your house until next Christmas and it will never turn out as good as the stuff in this store. Just stop. Buy that awesome onesie or that pair of odd but cool earrings. These are by FAR the best presents you can ever buy someone for Christmas, birthdays or baby showers. It's local, it's unique and if you want, you can tell people you made it.
This place is seriously adorbs! Its a little shop filled with goodies made by locals! Its full of fun unique little finds such as dog collars with bow ties, beanies designed to look like owls, knitted cacti and much much more!
Great place to find cute gifts and decor that no one else really has! Plus when you check in here on Yelp you get 20% off your purchase! Plus the guy who works here has the most gorgeous eyes Ive probably ever seen. In my life.
Go in and check out all this place has to offer. Your welcome in advance.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this shop. The owner is an absolute sweetheart, and always remembers my friend and I when we come in. She knows everything about the artists and their creations, and has even introduced me to some new music. As for the products, they are unique, lovely, well-made, and fun. Everything has its own personality. I've gotten so many cute dresses, jewelry, and decor from here, including my favorites, stuffed handmade sushi and toast characters.
Obsessed with this store. Everything is handmade by local artists and thoughtfully crafted! There is really something for everyone and its the perfect place to shop for a birthday present. They also resell current clothing with a really great editing eye, so you can reform your wardrobe with nice clothing for a really affordable price, all the while supporting a local store/family instead of big corporations. The staff are always nice and the inventory is constantly changing.
Plus its situation between an awesome vintage store and an awesome lifestyle store, across the street from a burger bar and a chocolate factory so you can really make a nice little afternoon out of it :) And theres always parking within a block!
Adorbz store! Everything from clothing, to accessories, to hand-made jewelry, and to kitschy home decorating goodies.I'm a sucker for anything made out of recycled materials, and they have lots of it. Plus, everything is created by local San Diego artists, which is always a great cause to support. Awesome place to just browse around and an even better place to score some original, one-of-a-kind items and gifts.
A boutique that carries items designed and created by local artists!!! You can really tell that all the items in Make Good have been carefully chosen to represent only the best. It's a small shop that has a lot of good stuff!
And now, they carry 1stitch1stitch accessories! I love that they support local artists. I heart Make Good!
Truth, Beauty, and Good: three concepts that I take so seriously, I'm wary of putting their words to common use.
So you can imagine the tiny pang felt in my soul when I noticed the name of this boutique- a place that dared to ascend beyond all other boutiques to associate itself with the Good. I had to see for myself: test it, try it, have conversation with it--do something that would validate me (or it) for the Good we both claimed to live by so well.
I walked into the store, armed for battle--ready with a bitter, verbal attack and the AHAH! I so desired to shout at the sight of any offense, marketing ploy, or falsity that would oppose its self-proclaimed goodness. I walked through the door, but no evils struck me there. A girl behind the cashier asked: "how's it going?" And I mumbled something in return. Oh, I've seen airs of false kindness before, in a moment she would turn away, uninterested, unkind. So I sidled to the far corner to explore this place for myself.
In a sliver of a moment, my defenses faltered. Just a tiny moment, when some fine letter press stationary caught my eye and I found the perfect birthday card for a friend. And then in another moment, too, when I realized that the clothes hanging along the wall were used items in good quality and offered at a good---I mean decent--price. I shook off my soft feelings and moved to the next corner. Sewn gift bags, brooches, paper and pens. Wallets and ties made of recycled material, earth-friendly jewelry and clothing. After a turn through the store, I returned to the cashier. There was the kind girl, still very kind. I paid for four items and paid no more than $20. Something in my plan had gone very wrong.
And then, like all forms of this world, the pattern hit me, dumbfounded, like the sun to men in a cave. Alll of the objects in this store were hand made. All of the items were made by local craftsmen. This wasn't a place of knackery and deception: it was a place that encouraged community involvement by selling local goods. Oh, how sheepish I felt at the time!--to have prepared to fight a movement that was on my side! But I was grateful to have discovered a place and concept so rare, so good (yes! good!), that it was only necessary for me to doubt it and confront it in order to really know the truth (yes! truth!).
I left the shop renewed in spirit, and have returned to you to share my great discovery: in the land of San Diego, in the region of South Park, there dwells a business--yes, business--whose sole purpose is to do one thing for others and encourage them to do the same. The thing, my friends, is to make, share, and show the concept of the Good.
